Detailed Private Drainage Design and External Hardstanding
Civilistix Consulting Engineers were appointed to prepare private detailed drainage and external hardstanding design to support the erection of 6no. dwellings with associated external hardstanding areas.
Due to the ground investigation identifying the ground was suitable for infiltration, we proposed a soakaway underneath the car park, collecting surface water from all proposed building and hardstanding areas.
Permeable pavement was used for the full car park area and all drainage was designed to accommodate surface water runoff for all events up to and including the 100yr+40%cc event in accordance with latest guidance.
We designed foul water to run fully under gravity, using carrier pipes around the proposed buildings, connecting with an existing public sewer. To agree the sewer connection, a Section 106 application was submitted to Anglian Water.
Floor levels of the proposed buildings were tied in at planning meaning retaining walls were required around a portion of the perimeter of the site to ensure boundary level tie-in could occur. Finished levels along with finished surfaces, associated construction details and kerbing requirements were identified as part of our design package
