Combined Flood Risk Assessment & Surface & Foul Water Drainage Strategy

Services offered

  • Combined Flood Risk Assessment & Surface & Foul Water Drainage Strategy

The brief

Civilistix Consulting Engineers were appointed to prepare a Combined Flood Risk Assessment and Surface and Foul Water Drainage Strategy to support a planning application for creation of an artificial grassed pitch, club house, 50 space car park and associated hardstanding areas

What we did

To generate the required attenuation volumes and ensure the scheme was prepared in accordance with SuDS best practice, we proposed tanked permeable paving construction to all external hardstanding areas and a geo-cellular storage tank located underneath the car parking area.

These features ensure overall discharge form the site was contained to 2.81 l/s (the greenfield runoff rate), for all events up to and including the 100 year + 40% climate change event.

As part of our scope we also worked with the sports pitch manufacturer to similarly ensure land drainage of the sports pitch was contained to pre-development rates and that filtration of potential suspended solids in runoff could be intercepted.
